Ecology Means Science of the Learning about nature. So, it also identify as Eco science.

            So under the planning section we have to learn about ecology, but why, we have to find answer about that question.

            Especially of Town planning, as a historical period, "Nile valley Towns, Indus valley towns (Mohendojaro, Harappa) Towns were constructed. So, when we are consider about the planning section of this Towns. There were planned well, It s not harmful for eco-systems as well. It's planned well with protecting nature.

            After that due to evolution of city planning, The Industrial City Era was came. I that situation cities manly constructed for achieved industrial Targets. This Cities were developed during the Industrial revolution Period (1820-1840).

            So, since that Period Environment Pollute things were coming to the world comprehensively. Such as "Fossil Fuels", etc. and also during that period, forest cover was reduced too. That's why Timber were using for many number of industries and some cities develop reduced the forests. Therefore In that day's ecological aspect threated by many human works.

            Since that situation, our Biodiversity is facing High level of threats. As a result, now a days creating and expanding hole in the Ozone Layer, upon the Antarctic Area. We consider about more than that we can identify,

Ø  Global Warming is Increasing day by day

Ø  Forest cover start to reducing day by day.

            As a result of that thing, we can see biodiversity faced a big Problem. As an example Habitats are destroying. Therefore large number of species become as treated species. As such we have to have get solution for that's uncomfortable things.

 

            As a result, we doing planning activities, we have to using ecology for planning theories. Further in present time city development is major aspect around the world, between rapidly increasing populations. Therefore we using ecology, for doing planning activities. As an example If we have to development a city, we have to consider about how to develop city avoid ecological bad effects. More than that under the ecology for planning allow to us learning about the Indigenous, Threat, Vulnerable, Species. Further it's gave idea for consider protect those species while doing the planning and development activities.

            And further, under the ecology for planning we studying about the many number of case studies. Such as Air Pollution Problems, Water Pollution Problems. So it's gave knowledge for us to How, Should do our planning activities, and it order to know if ecological problem have occurred what the solutions solve for that problem.

            As an example in Sri Lanka. Elephant and human Conflict is increasing day by day, Because of that inappropriate planning. There were suggest and built Residential, among the Elephant Foot paths. So In that example give chance for the identify, How Ecology study is Important for Planning.

            In Now a days many number of Countries using ecology for planning, it's order to consider about Biodiversity between planning. And many concepts was introduce under the ecology for city planning. Such as "Green City Concept". So finally we can identify Ecology is Very Important for planning activities. Since Past to Present, and even Future.
