New Detention to the Traditional Song
When we considering about the Sri Lankan music, we can see
that there are various types of Songs which are made in carious time periods.
In songs originated in this way " Udumbara Hinahenawa" is a song
which converted traditional music to new way.
About the Song.
"Udumbara Hinahenawa" is the theme song of the Film”
Bambaru Awith', this Story is about the clash between urban entrepreneurs and
local fishermen in a fishing village in Sri Lanka. However this song which describes
the happiness and the sadness of a women of a coastal area, is a great creation
which has been written with a hidden specialized language.
About the film
"bambaru awith" is a drametic film produced in 1978
by Sri Lanka great Director "Dharmasena pathiraja".
This film is
set in a finishing village. "Anton" is an exploiter who out warmly
resembles and acts like a regular fisherman. He feeds off the other fisherman
into this setting, arrives members of the urban entrepreneurial youth, they
have adopted to western culture, dressing like westerners, and this urban
people bring a business ethic of their own with capitalistic tendencies the
local patriarch, Anton clashes with the urbanized headed by victor. When victor
gets involved with local girl, tensions rise in the village, climaxing to a
series of violent events.
The main
characters of this film victor, Anton and Helen are given the life by prominent
actors' "vijaya Kumarathunga, Joe Abeywickrama" and actress 'Malini
Fonseka respectively.

About the Music
As mentioned
at the beginning of this article the song "Udumbara Hinahenawa"
diverts the traditional music into a new dimension. This song is sung by
"T.M Jayarathne, Ivo Denis and Sunil Abeysekara" and music was
directed by late musician master premasiri kemadasa. The special method use for
this song is the method of melody and harmony. The Melody, means singing based
on different notes at the same time.

The method of
harmony is used. In this way using the method of harmony in traditional music

The song through my view.
It is my
opinion that using the method of harmony and melody by Master Premasiri
kemadasa for this is real and a marvels creation by using the method of
Harmony, musician has sharpen the meaning of the song similarly the
contribution of singers is very great. Due t their strong voice the song has
become greater.
This
meaningful and beautiful song can be regarded as one of my favorite Song. According
to my view this a great Creation.
